The present invention provides a method for producing an imidazole compound represented by formula (I) or a salt thereof, the method being characterized in comprising a step for reacting a compound represented by formula (II) or a salt thereof with an alkyl metal reagent, a boron reagent, and a compound represented by formula (III) or a salt thereof.
