The present invention relates to a bearer control method and system. The bearer control method applies to supporting multiple access technique network architectures, comprising: establishing a packet data network (PDN) connection in the case of a user equipment (UE) accessing a network; and distinguishing and transmitting a service data flow of the UE over an air interface bearer between the UE and an access node of an access network according to the obtained quality of service (QoS) information, and transmitting the service data flow via a transmission tunnel between the access node of the access network and a gateway of a core network, or sending the service data flow to the packet data network directly via the access node of the access network. By means of performing layered management on a bearer between a UE and a network, the functions of an MME are simplified. An access node of an access network controls the transmission of a service data flow over an air interface bearer according to QoS information, which intensifies the management of air interface resource conditions by the access node of the access network, improves the management efficiency and capacity of network resources, reduces power consumption, and provides a basis for further evolution of a mobile network. |
