<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing method in which smudges of a transfer belt are effectively removed to enable high quality printing, and to provide a printer.SOLUTION: In a printing method, an ink is discharged onto a recording medium W by ink jet printing to perform textile printing. The printing method includes: a transfer step where the recording medium is transferred by a transfer belt 424; an ink discharge step where the ink is discharged onto the recording medium; and a cleaning fluid discharge step where a cleaning fluid for cleaning a surface of the transfer belt from an ink jet head 511 onto the recording medium and/or the transfer belt. In the cleaning fluid discharge step, it is preferable to discharge the cleaning fluid to a non drawing region on the recording medium which excludes a drawing region to which the ink is discharged.</p> |
