This optical scanning-type image forming device comprises: a light source unit; an illumination scanning unit; an optical detection unit; a calculation unit that calculates image construction coordinates and drive waveforms for imparting a scanning pattern of light for the illumination scanning unit; and an image rendering unit that renders an image on the basis of light detected by the optical detection unit and the image construction coordinates. The calculation unit is configured so as to impart a plurality of different light scanning patterns to the illumination scanning unit, and calculate distortion correction data by carrying out a comparison among the data of light detected by the optical detection unit when light is scanned using the plurality of different scanning patterns. In addition, this optical scanning-type image forming method comprises: a step in which a plurality of different light scanning patterns are imparted to the illumination scanning unit that scans the light from the light source unit and projects the light onto a subject; and a step in which distortion correction data is calculated, by the calculation unit, according to a comparison carried out among the data of light detected by the optical detection unit when light is scanned using the plurality of different scanning patterns. |
