<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing member that can prevent the occurrence of wrinkles on envelopes without causing a reduction in durability.SOLUTION: In a fixing device 18 including a heating roller (heating member) 21 and a pressure roller (pressure member) 22 that are brought into contact with each other, and has selectable fixing modes of a high-pressure mode with high fixing pressure and a low-pressure mode with low fixing pressure, a pressure arm (support member) 24 rotating around one end supports the pressure roller 22 at the intermediate part in the longitudinal direction; first and second springs 26 and 27 are arranged at the other end of the pressure arm 24, and the first spring 26 is constantly brought into contact with the pressure arm 24 and the second spring 27 is selectively brought into contact with the pressure arm 24 by a switching mechanism; and the second spring 27 is brought into contact with the pressure arm 24 in the high-pressure mode, and the second spring 27 is separated from the pressure arm 24 in the low-pressure mode.</p> |
