[Class 75 (ii).] In a lampshade of the kind comprising a hollow body which surrounds the light source and carries externally a plurality of laterally extending portions which are spaced apart from each other, the laterally extending portions are each carried by a separate projection formed integrally with or permanently attached to the hollow body and spaced apart from each other, each projection extending laterally a greater distance than the projections above it so that each laterally extending portion may be placed in position by passing it downwards on to its respective projection. In the form shown in Fig. 1, the hollow body 10, which may be in the form of a globe, cylinder, cone, or of other ornamental shape and of circular or polygonal cross-section, is formed with blown ridges 11-13 to receive the laterally extending portions 14 which are preferably in the form of flat rings. Each ridge may be replaced by a number of spaced blown excrescences, or by a number of spaced feet or an annular fillet welded or cemented to the hollow body. In the form shown in Fig. 7, the hollow body 10 is blown to provide a series of cylindrical steps which directly receive the laterally extending portions 14. The hollow body and the laterally extending portions are made of glass or like translucent material and they may be decorated as by means of varnish. The Provisional Specification refers to the use of a single laterally extending portion. |
