<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle periphery monitoring device which can detect an organism even when the outside air temperature is high.SOLUTION: A feature part extraction unit 13 extracts a first predetermined number of first feature parts having a first feature, from an organism candidate image part, when the detection temperature of an outside air temperature sensor 34 is in a normal outside air temperature range, and extracts a second predetermined number, smaller than the first predetermined number, of second feature parts having a second feature from an organism candidate image part, when the detection temperature of the outside air temperature sensor 34 is in high outside air temperature range higher than the normal outside air temperature range. On the basis of the extraction results of first or second feature parts by the feature part extraction unit 13, an organism detection unit 14 determines whether or not the organism candidate image part is an image part of an organism, thus detecting an organism.</p> |
