<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet conveying device which appropriately conveys a sheet even if the sheet has a size equal to or less than a card size and is made of a hard material, and also appropriately conveys a sheet such as a paper having a size larger than the card size. <P>SOLUTION: A first lower guide portion 41 and a first upper guide portion 33 which guide conveyance of a sheet are arranged to face each other with an interval therebetween. In addition, both guide portions are formed to face a bottom surface of the sheet and a top surface thereof respectively. In the first upper guide portion 33, a concave portion 78 concaved in a direction separating from the first lower guide portion 41 is formed at one part in a right and left direction perpendicular to a sheet conveying direction.
