<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a short arc type discharge lamp with reduced risk of rupture of a lamp. <P>SOLUTION: A short arc type discharge lamp comprises: a spherical part; and two seal pipe parts opposed to each other along an axial line passing through the spherical part. In each seal pipe part, when thickness of a portion surrounding a first collector disc of the seal tube part is thickness t1, thickness of a portion surrounding a second collector disc of the seal tube part is thickness t2, and length of a portion of the seal tube part whose thickness is gradually varied is length L1, 3.0(mm)≤t1≤8.0(mm), 1.5(mm)≤t2≤4.0(mm), 0.5(mm)≤t1-t2≤3.0(mm), 0.5≤t2/t1<1, and 2≤L1 are satisfied. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT</p> |
