<p>An optical writing device (10) includes a light source (21a, 21b, 21c, 21d), an optical deflector (1) that scans light from the light source, a pre-deflector optical system (300a, 300b) that guides the light from the light source to the deflector, a post-deflector optical system (200a, 200b) that guides the scanned light to a target surface (6a, 6b, 6c, 6d), a cover (51) covering the deflector and including a first opening (56) and a second opening (58) at different positions, and a housing (7) housing these optical elements. Light from the light source to the deflector and the scanned light are transmitted through the first opening but not through the second opening. During deflector rotation, a forced inflow of air from outside to inside the cover forms in the first opening, and a discharged airflow from inside to outside the cover forms in the second opening.</p> |
