An image display apparatus connected to a printer, for displaying an image to be printed by the printer, includes display section for displaying taken image data as a thumbnail, control section for generating edited image data by editing the taken image data selected by a user and generating an additional thumbnail of the edited image data, and select section for selecting a taken image displayed on the display means to be edited, an editing operation for the taken image, and a print image. As the taken image is edited, the control means displays the additional thumbnail of the edited image data in addition to a thumbnail of the taken image data on the display means to allow each of the thumbnail and the additional thumbnail to be selected as the print image. |

1. An image editing apparatus connectable to a printer, the apparatus comprising:
a display configured to display one or more thumbnail images relating to images, the images comprising taken images, edited images or both, the taken images and edited images having respective taken image data and edited image data; a control unit; and a program executable by the control unit to (1) effect the display of the thumbnail images on the display with each framed by a display frame and (2) enable a user to select (i) for editing, a taken image or an edited image the thumbnail image for which is displayed on the display, (ii) an editing operation for the selected image, and (iii) for printing, one or more images associated with the thumbnail images, wherein
a taken image is an image the image data for which does not include edited image data,if the selected image is a taken image, the control unit (i) generates edited image data while the user edits the selected taken image data, and (ii) when the edit operation is complete, generates a thumbnail image relating to the edited image data, the thumbnail image relating to the edited image data displayed simultaneously with a thumbnail image relating to the selected taken image data and with information in its display frame distinguishing the thumbnail image relating to the edited image data from the thumbnail image relating to the selected taken image data,if the selected image is an edited image, the control unit (i) generates further edited image data while the user edits the selected edited image data, and (ii) when the edit operation is complete, overwrites the edited image data with the further edited image data and redraws the thumbnail image relating to the edited image data with a thumbnail relating to the further edited data, andeach display frame includes information indicating a print size and the number of print copies designated for the image, and the thumbnail image for the edited image data includes an icon within the display frame indicating that the thumbnail image for the edited image data was created later than the thumbnail image for the taken image data. |
