Described is an autoinjector (1 ) comprising a case (2.1 2.2) a drive carriage (22) disposed in the case (2.1 2.2) and a plunger (11) coupled to the drive carriage (22). The plunger (11) is adapted to releasably engage a needle retraction mechanism in a syringe (3).
