<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a balloon catheter having sufficient plasticity and strength for performing medical treatment and having excellent shape restoration properties.SOLUTION: A balloon 120 of the balloon catheter includes a shape-memory layer 121, the glass-transition temperature of which is lower than a body temperature, and base material layer 122 having strength higher than that of the shape-memory layer 121. The balloon includes a shape-memory layer 121, the glass-transition temperature of which is lower than the body temperature, so as to dispense with high-temperature shaping. This configuration can prevent the lowering of the plasticity and strength of the base material layer 122 and, by the effect of the shape-memory layer 121, enlarge force returning to an original folded shape in the blood vessel, the temperature of which is equal to or more than the glass-transition temperature.</p> |
