ALGAE CULTIVATION METHOD AND PRODUCTION METHOD FOR OSMOTIC PRESSURE REGULATOR

Provided are: an algae cultivation method whereby an osmotic pressure regulator can be efficiently produced using simple steps; a production method for said regulator; and an algae cultivation method that recovers carbon dioxide from a mixed gas including carbon dioxide and sulfurous acid gas. The algae cultivation method includes: a step in which, under a plurality of cultivation conditions having different temperature, pH, and salt concentration conditions, environmental sample-derived microalgae cultures are cultivated under photoautotrophic conditions and a plurality of enriched cultures that contain at least 1 wt% betaine, etc., and have different dominant species of microalgae plexus are prepared; a step in which an optimum enriched culture suitable for main cultivation is selected from the plurality of enriched cultures in accordance with the expected culture medium temperature and pH fluctuation for the main cultivation and a culturing plan for the main cultivation operation is prepared; a step in which the optimum enriched culture is used, main cultivation occurs under photoautotrophic conditions and at a salt concentration of at least 10 wt%, and a betaine-containing main culture is prepared; and a betaine-separation step. During main cultivation, a mixed gas including sulfurous acid gas and carbon dioxide is blown into a betaine-containing algae culture solution and algae is cultivated.
