This invention provides a scheme that makes it possible to supply power to individual power-consumption sites in a distributed manner. One mode of this invention consists of a system in which a plurality of power sources and a plurality of power-consumption sites are connected by a power-transmission network and a control network is overlaid on top of said power-transmission network. Nodes of the control network that correspond to power-consumption sites are each provided with the following: a query-packet transmission means that, if power consumption becomes necessary at that node, transmits, to a neighboring node, a query packet that requests that the required power be supplied; a reply-packet reception means that receives a reply packet, said reply packet being a response to the aforementioned query packet; and a consumption management means that, on the basis of the received reply packet, selects a power source that can cover the aforementioned power consumption. |
