An assembly of substrate and an elongated wire rack configured as a carrier for the substrate for cultivating plants therein, comprising spaced-apart support elements extending transversely to the longitudinal direction of the elongated wire rack, said support elements comprising a carrying part, which extends substantially horizontally, at least in use, and a supporting part configured for supporting the elongated wire rack on a base. The elongated wire rack further comprises an inner longitudinal girder construction comprising at least one inner longitudinal girder and at least two outer longitudinal girders positioned on either side of the inner longitudinal girder construction, which inner longitudinal girder construction and outer longitudinal girders extend substantially parallel to each other in the longitudinal direction of the wire rack and which are connected to the carrying part of the support elements as substrate carriers. |
