<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high yield, low height quartz device designed to avoid crack in a container body, which may be caused by stress deformation resulting from a temperature change of ceramic during the step of welding a metal cover to a container body composed of a ceramic sheet.SOLUTION: A quartz device has a container body in which an upper frame wall 3 and a lower frame wall 4 are arranged on one and the other main faces of a substrate 2 formed from a flat plate made of a ceramic sheet. A first recessed part for accommodating a quartz oscillator is formed from the one main face and the upper frame wall. A second recessed part in which an electronic component 8 composing an oscillation circuit is mounted together with the quartz oscillator is formed from the other main face and the lower frame wall 4. A metal cover 6 is provided, which covers the opening of the first recessed part, is welded to an end face of the opening, and seals the quartz oscillator 9. The open end face of the second recessed part includes a plurality of mounting terminals 10 to be mounted on a target mounting substrate by a face down method. A slit 7 is provided in the recessed-part-opening-side central part of an edge composing the lower frame wall 4 forming the second recessed part.</p> |
