<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an iodine adsorbent which is especially effective when applied to polluted water containing radioactive iodine and present in large quantity, and provide a treatment device and treatment method using the iodine absorbent.SOLUTION: In a front stage vessel, there is housed active carbon loaded with trivalent or tetravalent cerium hydroxide, an aqueous solution containing iodine ions and iodate ions is introduced therein, and the active carbon loaded with trivalent or tetravalent cerium hydroxide performs adsorption of iodine ions as well as adsorption and a reduction treatment of the iodate ions. In a subsequent stage vessel, there is housed active carbon loaded with iodine, where an adsorption treatment of iodine ions and residual iodate ions is performed, the ions being present in the aqueous solution which passed through the front stage vessel.</p> |
