PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition comprising a cyclic siloxane trimer, which is suitable as a raw material for producing a siloxane polymer such as silicone resin, and a production method of a siloxane compound using the above trimer as a raw material.SOLUTION: A cyclic siloxane compound represented by formula (1a) or formula (1b) is synthesized by dehydrating and condensing trihydrophenylsilane by use of an acid catalyst in an aprotic solvent without using a hollow structure. A composition comprising the cyclic siloxane compound represented by formula (1a) or formula (1b) is provided; and the composition can be suitably used as a raw material for producing a siloxane polymer.
