Provided are an inkjet recording device and a nozzle state detection method, whereby ink droplets from a plurality of nozzle openings can be detected by easy, quick, and accurate detection position adjustment. The inkjet recording device comprises: an ink discharge head; a detection unit that emits light that crosses the trajectories of ink droplets discharged from the plurality of nozzle openings and detects ink droplets from detected light amounts for light emitted at positions interposing the trajectories therebetween; a unit travel unit that moves the detection unit to detection positions each corresponding to ink trajectories for each opening; a reference point identification unit that identifies a reference point at which the position of the detection unit corresponds to the ink trajectory for a reference nozzle opening; a position measurement unit for the detection unit; a detection position calculation unit for ink droplets on the basis of the detection unit position measured at the reference point; and a nozzle state determination unit that moves the detection unit to each detection position, detects ink droplets, and determines ink discharge states. |
