PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for managing temperature of an article properly.SOLUTION: The invention relates to a method for determining a detection temperature by an index temperature sensor 20, as an index temperature T3 corresponding to a temperature of an article 16. As the method, a storage room 13 for storing the article under air conditioning is arranged with: an air temperature sensor 15 for detecting a temperature of air in the storage room 13; an index temperature sensor 20 for detecting a temperature; and a thermal operation member 22 for applying any one of thermal capacity and thermal resistance between the index temperature sensor 20 and the air in the storage room 13, to the index temperature sensor 20. The thermal capacity applied to the index temperature sensor 20 is larger than that of the air temperature sensor. The thermal resistance applied to the index temperature sensor 20 is larger than that between the air temperature sensor 15 and the air in the storage room 13.
