<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nuclear reactor capable of cooling a reactor pressure vessel for a long period using cooling water without wasting with passive driving force. <P>SOLUTION: The nuclear reactor capable of reserving cooling water between a reactor pressure vessel 2 and a biological shield wall 3 includes: cooling water storage pool 5 located above the reactor pressure vessel 2; a water injection pipe 6 capable of injecting the cooling water in the cooling water storage pool 5 into between the reactor pressure vessel 2 and the biological shield wall 3 with its own weight; an actuation valve 7 provided to the water injection pipe 6 and opening when injecting the cooling water in the cooling water storage pool 5 into between the reactor pressure vessel 2 and the biological shield wall 3; and a float valve 8 provided to the water injection pipe 6 and opening and closing according to the water level of the cooling water reserved between the reactor pressure vessel 2 and the biological shield wall 3. The float 8 closes when the water level of the cooling water reserved between the reactor pressure vessel 2 and the biological shield wall 3 is equal to or larger than a set value H and opens when the water level is less than the set value H. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT</p> |
