Provided is a binder composition and its use in aqueous based paints and coatings and other applications. The binder composition comprises: (a) a copolymer formed from one or more esters or amides of acrylic acid or methacrylic acid, or their mixtures, together with a monomer unit of formula I:
wherein R, R 1 R 2 , R 3 , R 4 , and X are as defined above; and (b) water, wherein the binder composition is an aqueous emulsion. |
