<p>The food strand is inserted into a feed device (3) and is conveyed to another feed device, in a transfer position. The food strand is fixed during the transfer from the transfer position into the feed position in which food strand is more inclined to the horizontal than in the transfer position, along longitudinal sides by fixing element of a fixing device (5). The rear end of food strand is held by a holder (6). The food strand is moved to a cutting device (7) so that cutting device successively cut the food strand into slices.
