摘要
432,452. Handles for bats, rackets, &c. BROWN, H., 53, Bedford Square, Bloomsbury, London. March 28, 1934, No. 9663. [Class 132 (ii)] The handle of a bat, racket, stick, or other implement used in games has a central longitudinal bore 2, a reinforcing ring or rings 4 of metal or other hard material, a layer 6 of binding material, for example, leather or hardened plastic cement, and a plurality of transverse passages 3 bored through the binding into the central bore. The metal ring 4 may be secured within the outer end of the bore. Before the transverse passages are bored the interior surface may be treated under pressure with a liquid or plastic cement which is thereby forced into the pores of the wood and when set forms a strong lining 5 the exterior being similarly treated. The required balance of the handle may be obtained by varying the weight of the metal ring 4 or by providing additional rings.
