The present invention relates to a high brightness multipurpose portable lantern using a light emitting diode as a light source. The portable lantern, which contains a rechargeable battery inside and is rechargeable, comprises: a main body; a lantern portion formed in an upper end portion of the main body, and using the light emitting diode as the light source; a state display portion formed on one side of the main body, and displaying the remaining amount and a charge state of the battery; an operating switch formed on one side of the main body while being close to the state display portion, and operating the lantern portion; and a charging jack insertion groove formed in a lower end portion of the main body, and formed to make the charging jack for charging the battery be inserted. Accordingly, the lantern uses the light emitting diode as the light source of the lantern portion, is easy to display a state of the battery, is able to be charged as the charging jack insertion groove for charging the battery is formed, is able to realize a small size at a low price, and is convenient to be carried. |
