摘要 The purpose of the present invention is to obtain an interior permanent magnet rotating electric machine in which cogging torque and torque ripple can be reduced, the operating range can be extended, and magnet demagnetization can be prevented. In the interior permanent magnet rotating electric machine of the present invention, when the curvature radius of a cylindrical surface (14) tangent to arc-shaped curves (13) disposed in a circumferential direction is denoted by R1, the curvature radius of the arc-shaped curves (13) by R2, and the curvature radius of the upper surface of a permanent magnet (16) by R3, a relationship of R1 > R2 > R3 is satisfied. A magnet housing hole (15) has air gap portions (17) formed by swelling out outer diameter side portions of the circumferential direction both side portions toward the outside in a circumferential direction. At inner diameter side portions of the circumferential direction both side portions of said magnet housing hole, surfaces are provided that make contact with the circumferential direction both side surfaces of said permanent magnet in parallel with a radial direction. When the thickness of the iron core portion between each of said arc-shaped curves of a rotor iron core and said magnet housing hole at the magnetic pole center is denoted by B1 and the thickness of said iron core portion at an end in a circumferential direction by B2, a relationship of B2 > B1 is satisfied.
