The present invention relates to a data transmission method which enables a terminal for receiving a signal to have excellent diversity characteristics by applying a transmission diversity method which does not reduce a transmission rate even if three or more transmission antennas are used for downlink cooperation communications in a frequency division multiplexing method, and an apparatus thereof. According to the present invention, the data transmission method comprises the following steps: a base station transmits a signal of which an input signal is coded into a space-frequency block code (SFBC) in a first time slot section to one or more relays; and the base station and the relays simultaneously transmit a signal of which the input signal is quasi-orthogonal-coded in a second time slot section, to a destination.
