PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a motion apparatus for a child that can be readily folded and can oscillate in a lateral direction to help rock the child.SOLUTION: An upright column 106 provided to a support base 102 supports a seat unit 104 composed of a rigid frame 108 including a bottom frame segment 114 and a seat back frame segment 116. The upright column 106 can rotate in the right and left direction about a rotational axis Z and can be inclined toward the back of the seat unit, to add a vertical component to horizontal oscillating movement. While the motion apparatus for a child is not used, a carrying handle is folded frontward and a peripheral frame provided to the seat unit 104 and the seat back frame segment 116 are inclined frontward.
