PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic resonance imaging apparatus which allows highly accurate positioning operation of a desired imaging face of a heart while burdens on a test subject and an operator of the MRI apparatus are reduced.SOLUTION: The magnetic resonance imaging apparatus includes: a detector 121 for detecting an image feature part of a target organ on the basis of three-dimensional first imaging data including the target organ of a test subject; a calculator 142 for calculating an imaging face on the basis of the image feature part; an imager 110 for obtaining second imaging data by imaging at the position of the imaging face; and a display 150 for displaying the image feature part superimposed on the second imaging data.
