<p>A system for fastening the bridge or hinge elements connecting the temples to the lenses of eyeglasses, where the bridge and the temple connecting hinge elements are made by die forming or punching out from a metal alloy sheet and where the ends of the bridge, as well as each of the ends of the temple connecting hinge elements which is directed towards the respective lens, is furnished with a respective fork-shaped structure, with at least one pair of prongs lying in a plane at right angles to the plane of the lenses and where each lens is provided with holes located at the points of connection with the ends of the bridge and/or of the temple connecting hinge elements, these holes being equal in number to the number of prongs on the respective fork-shaped structures and comprising, inside them, respective tubular sleeves, the prongs of each fork-shaped structure being press fitted into the tubular sleeves, wherein the prongs of the fork-shaped structures are flat and have vertical walls which are flat and smooth. This produces "ultralight" or "rimless" eyeglasses, that is, those without a full mounting frame structure.</p> |
