<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform speech synthesis in consideration of sound change between words before and after, when performing speech synthesis of a language such as English, in which pronunciation is influenced by sounds before and after. <P>SOLUTION: A speech synthesis device includes: a sound symbol dictionary which holds a sound symbol of a word; a sound symbol conversion function for converting the word in a language text to the sound symbol by referring to the sound symbol dictionary; a sound change rule dictionary which holds a sound change condition and the sound symbol after change; a sound symbol replacing function in which, when the sound symbol which meets a condition that sound change occurs, which is held by the sound change rule dictionary, by referring to the sound symbol obtained by the sound symbol conversion function, and the sound change rule dictionary, the sound symbol of a corresponding part is replaced to that after change in the sound change rule dictionary; and a text speech synthesis function for outputting the sound symbol by sound. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
