The present invention relates to a method and apparatus for effectively processing charging in a wireless communications system, and a method and apparatus for providing a policy service of a business operator through a charging process. The method of the present invention comprises the following steps: a base station checks a radio access technology (RAT) using a terminal; and the base station produces charging information in accordance with a use of a communications service of the terminal in accordance with the checked RAT. The method according to the other embodiment comprises the following steps: the base station check the RAT using the terminal; the base station produces charging-related information including RAT information which shows the checked RAT for the charging process in accordance with the use of the communications service of the terminal; and the base station transfers the charging-related information to a network entity in charge of the charging process.
