<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To dispense with a sensor for detecting opening and closing of the cover by composing to detect the opening and closing posture of the cover by using another sensor. <P>SOLUTION: The printer housing 2 is provided with a second contact point 53 contacting a first contact point 52 when the cover 3 is in a closed posture, while the cover 3 that is openably and closably installed in the printer housing 2 is provided with a waste liquid recovery device 40 having a waste liquid amount detection sensor and the first contact point 52 connected to the waste liquid amount detection sensor. Then a waste liquid amount detection circuit connected with the second contact point 53 detects the opening and closing of the cover 3 from the information whether the first contact point 52 and the second contact point 53 contact, while receiving the detection signal output from the waste liquid amount detection sensor, and detecting the waste liquid amount in the state where the cover 3 is a close posture and the first contact point 52 and the second contact point 53 contact. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT</p> |
