<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a defoaming device which can be made inexpensive, can be controlled easily and can be installed even in a position with a limited installation space. <P>SOLUTION: A drainage ditch 3 formed from a drain outlet 1 toward the water discharge direction is provided. The drainage ditch 3 has a defoaming structure housing part 3a on the downstream side of the drain outlet 1. A defoaming structure 4 composed of a water-pervious material formed by intertwining a fibrous material is housed in the defoaming structure housing part 3a.
