The present invention provides a cruise control system and a control method thereof. The cruise control system for controlling the movement of a cruise system comprises: a movable object information reception part for receiving information on movable objects within a predetermined distance from the center of a crossroad; a crossroad approach prediction part for predicting whether each of the movable objects approaches the crossroad based on the information on the movable objects; and a crossroad approach determination part for determining whether the cruise system approaches the crossroad based on the prediction for each movable object approaching the crossroad. The cruise control system having the cruise control system receives drive information of the movable objects around the crossroad, obtained by a sensor or the like installed on the crossroad to secure safe driving of the cruise system on the crossroad based on the received drive information.
