<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid discharge device which can suppress the deterioration of image quality resulting from an increase of the viscosity of liquid stored in a sub-tank. <P>SOLUTION: An inkjet printer 10 comprises: an ink discharge head 12; a main tank 60; the sub-tank 62; a second pump 72 for supplying an ink R to the sub-tank 62 from the main tank 60; an atmosphere communication passage 78; a first viscosity calculation part 98 for calculating the viscosityηT of the ink R stored in the sub-tank 62; a second viscosity calculation part 100 for calculating the viscosityηH of the ink R existing at the ink discharge head 12; and a maintenance control part 102. The maintenance control part 102 executes maintenance processing related to at least the ink R in the sub-tank 62 so as to reduce a viscosity difference (ηT-ηH) on the basis of the viscosity difference (ηT-ηH). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT</p> |
