An aspect of the disclosed invention provides a refrigerator capable of checking an inside part without a door by forming a display which is formed on at least one region of the door and can be changed to be transparent or opaque, and a control method for the same. Moreover, when the display formed in the refrigerator is in a transparent state, texts or images can be displayed or a memo written by a user is inputted. A refrigerator according to an embodiment includes a main body including a storeroom; a door which is combined with the main body to open/close the storeroom; a display which is formed in at least one region of the door, and has a transparent mode or opaque mode; and a control part which controls display of at least one of texts, images and colors when the display is in the opaque mode.
