PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and a method for more stably performing normal control on a wavelength variable light source.SOLUTION: The control device for the wavelength variable light source includes: a temperature monitor part for the wavelength variable light source; a temperature comparison part for comparing the monitored temperature with a target temperature and outputs a result of the comparison as a temperature monitor feedback control value; a wavelength monitor part for laser light of the wavelength light source; a wavelength comparison part for comparing the monitored wavelength with a target wavelength and outputs a result of the comparison as a wavelength monitor feedback control value; a current target value input part for outputting a target control value for temperature control of the wavelength variable light source as a feedforward control value; a control system selection part which selectively switches and outputs one of the three control values; a temperature control part for controlling the temperature of the wavelength variable light source in accordance with the selectively outputted control value; and a main control part for controlling the control system selection part.
