<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary damper capable of reducing the manufacturing cost of a valving element.SOLUTION: A rotary damper comprises: working chambers divided by partition walls and filled with oil; vanes arranged in the working chambers; a shaft rotatable along with the vanes; and valves provided in the partition walls, the vanes or the shaft. The valve comprises: valve chambers 41a, 42a through which oil flows; spherical valving elements 41b, 42b arranged in the valve chambers; and springs 41c, 42c each imparting a resistance to the valving element when the valving element moves in a closing direction. Peripheral walls 41f, 42f of the valve chambers each have means for reducing the area of a flow passage formed between the peripheral wall and the valving element according as the valving element moves in the closing direction.</p> |
