<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mechanical pencil that can actuate smoothly a chuck unit even when bending of a chuck toward a core tank and distortion of the core tank occur slightly.SOLUTION: A mechanical pencil 10 comprises an outer tube 11, a core tank 12 for storing a lead and a chuck unit 20 that feeds out the lead toward a front end direction and tightens the lead. The chuck unit 20 comprises a chuck 21 that is provided at a front end part of the core tank 12 and has a plurality of chuck pieces 21a and a chuck ring 22 having the chuck 21 inserted therethrough. Inside the outer tube 11, a pressing member 14 having an insertion hole 14c through which the lead can be inserted is provided near a front end of the chuck 21, and near the front end of the pressing member 14 is provided an elastic member 15. The elastic member 15 presses the pressing member 14 against the front end of the chuck 21 and fits the plurality of chuck pieces 21a into the inside of the chuck ring 22.</p> |
