Provided is an endoscope system which makes it possible to accurately recognize to which direction and what range a forward-view image and a lateral-view image correspond inside an imaging subject. The endoscope system is equipped with: an insertion part (4) to be inserted into the interior of an imaging subject; a forward imaging element (15a) for obtaining a first imaging-subject image from a first direction; an imaging element (15b) for obtaining a second imaging-subject image from a second direction; and an image processing unit (32a) for generating an overhead image (17) based on an overhead imaging-subject image which looks down on the imaging subject from an imaginary viewpoint separated from the insertion part, and performing processing for associating the first direction in the first imaging-subject image and the overhead imaging-subject image and the second direction in the second imaging-subject image and the overhead imaging-subject image with one another. |
