[Class 20 (iii)] Doors, windows, and the like are mounted on parallel links pivoted to the frame or the equivalent and connected by a link at points unequally spaced from the frame so that the door, &c., when first opened takes up an inclined position. As shown in Fig. 1, the connections 11<a>, 13<a> between the fixed frame and the links 3, 3<1>, are of unequal height. The door or sash may be guided by studs engaging slotted guides, Fig. 2, the slots 21, 21<1> being slightly out of parallel and a spring 22 being applied to one stud. The arrangement shown in Fig. 3, comprises one link 28 displaced at the pivot point 30<1> by a slight bend and extra links 26, 29 having a sliding connection with the frame and one being extended to provide a sliding connection with a slotted member 25 in the sash. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 comprises also a modification in which the mounting links are guided by non-parallel slots concentric with the fixed pivots of the links. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted. |
