The present invention relates to an apparatus for treating ballast water. The apparatus for treating ballast water according to the present invention comprises: a rotating pipe body (10) having the shape of an empty pipe, rotated around an axis by the operation of a rotating device (11) by introducing ballast water into one side and having a fore-end at the other side closed and connected to the rotating device (11), and having a ballast water discharge hole formed on an outer circumference surface to discharge the ballast water, which has been introduced into one side in multiple layers; a fixing case (20) having an inner circumference surface installed with a gap from the outer circumference surface of the rotating pipe body (10) while enveloping the rotating pipe body (10), and having a treated water discharge hole (21) formed at a lower part; multiple rotors (30) having one side connected to the outer circumference surface of the rotating pipe body (10) at a corresponding position between vertically adjacent ballast water discharge holes (12), and having a fore-end at the other side separated from the inner circumference surface of the fixing case (20); multiple stators (40) having one side connected to the inner circumference surface of the fixing case (20), having a fore-end at the other side separated from the outer circumference surface of the rotating pipe body (10), having an inner discharge hole (41) for treated water formed to penetrate vertically, and having placed between the rotors (30). According to the present invention, provided is an apparatus for treating ballast water which is simple and has higher treatment efficiency than a traditional device for sterilizing ballast water by generating eddies between the fixed stators and the rotating rotors and exerting a shearing force, which is caused by the rotating speed of the rotors, on the ballast water moving between the rotors and the stators to destroy the cells of microorganisms. |
