<p>A tool 1 for conditioning a plastic blade of a plastering tool comprises a first guide and a conditioning blade 3. The first guide receives an edge of the plastering tool blade for guiding the movement of the plastering tool blade relative to the conditioning blade 3. The first guide may comprise a channel 2 and the conditioning blade 3 may be mounted in or adjacent to it. The channel 2 may be open at one or both ends and may extend the length of the tool 1. The channel 2 may comprise a base 6 that may be straight in the longitudinal direction and the conditioning blade 3 may extend across the width of the base 6 at a predetermined height H. The base 6 may be planar or curved in its width direction. The channel 2 may comprise walls 7a, 7b that may be resiliently biased towards one another. The conditioning blade 3 may be curved or square and may be perpendicular or at an oblique angle to a longitudinal axis of the guide. There may be a second guide and an abrasive element 5, which may be sand paper, the second guide may comprise a groove 4 and the abrasive element 5 may cover the surface of the groove 4.
