This application relates to a device adapted to fit within or to be positioned adjacent to a cellular handset or other personal communication device for recording, in memory 6, characteristics of the radiation. The characteristic may include an identification of the type of transmission (e.g. voice or data) the communication protocol (e.g. 3G or GSM) and whether the radiation is likely to be harmful to human health. The device may transmit the radiation characteristics to a remote location using a mobile phone network. Preferably, a remedial signal is generated when required, to mitigate the effect of the radiation on the user, and information relating to the remedial signal may also be recorded in the memory. The device may be located within a battery of the phone. |
