Activation of a contactless device by a capacitive device

The reader (10) has a magnetic field emission antenna (11) communicating with a contact-free integrated circuit. A capacitive detection device (14) detects presence of the circuit in a communication perimeter of the reader and a contact-free reading device (13). The detection device has a capacity measuring unit comprising a measuring circuit to measure capacity of a capacitive sensor and deliver information about proximity of the integrated circuit when the capacity exceeds a preset threshold. The detection device has an activation unit to activate the reading device based on the information. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a method for activating a reading circuit of a contact-free integrated circuit (2) a computer program comprising a set of instructions for implementing a method for activating the reading circuit of the contact-free integrated circuit.
