The present invention relates to a structure for preventing coastal erosion and a construction method thereof, and more specifically, relates to a structure for preventing coastal erosion and a construction method thereof, the structure installed under seawater with a predetermined level of a coast to be changed depending on the change in wave direction of an incident wave and the water level to reduce the energy of the wave as it surges upon the coast, thereby minimizing damage to ground adjacent to the coast. The structure for preventing coastal erosion comprises: an anchor block installed on the bottom of the coast and allowing a connection member with a predetermined length to be connected thereto; multiple buoyant bodies each having a through-hole formed on each center to pass through the connection member to be connected and having each interior filled with concrete as a buoyancy control agent; multiple fixing plates passing through and connected to the connection member and restricting vertical separation intervals between the buoyant bodies to prevent the buoyant bodies from floating up to a predetermined height or more; and a buoyant ball installed on top of the connection member to be positioned on the surface of the seawater at normal times. The anchor block comprises: a through-hole formed on a center thereof to prevent buoyancy; a block body having a connection ring installed on an interior of the through-hole; and multiple support legs formed on the lower part of the block body and spaced from each other to be fixated to the bottom surface of the coast. Each fixing plate includes a through-hole formed on the center to be connected with the connection member and at least one connection hole formed on a periphery thereof. Also, a fixing bar made of metal material has both ends fixedly inserted into the connection hole of one fixing plate and a connection hole of another fixing plate adjacent to the one fixing plate, respectively, thereby preventing the buoyant bodies from crashing into each other while maintaining the intervals between the buoyant bodies.
