PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inverter device for motor drive capable of reducing the loss.SOLUTION: The inverter device for motor drive includes: an inverter 2 for driving a motor 3; and an inverter control unit 4 for PWM controlling the inverter 2. The inverter control unit 4 includes a loss estimator 12a that calculates motor loss and inverter loss while considering fluctuation in output voltage command and carrier frequency. A command value change section 12 of the inverter control unit 4 determines the output voltage command and carrier frequency using the calculation result of the loss estimator 12a.
