PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent discomfort caused by a delay of the increase control of an engine rotation number with respect to an increase of a required drive amount.SOLUTION: A vehicle control device performs rotation number control for controlling a gear change ratio of a transmission which is connected to an output side of an engine so that a rotation number of the engine is increased toward a target rotation number on the basis of an increase of a required drive amount. When increasing an engine output by an increase of the required drive amount from a state that the engine is idling-operated, an increase gradient of the engine rotation number caused by rotation number control when a delay time up to a start of the rotation number control associated with an increase of the required drive amount is a prescribed value is set small compared with an increase gradient of the engine rotation number when the delay time is shorter than the prescribed value (step S4). |
